Frisco Gallery SWS Signature Exhibition 2026

Southwestern Watercolor Society invites their Signature Members to exhibit their artworks at the Frisco Gallery at the Frisco Discovery Center from October 30, 2026-January 8, 2026.

This is a non-juried exhibition to showcase your artwork in our northern neighbor community who already hosts a vibrant art community in Frisco and the surrounding area.  Your elevated Signature status should be celebrated throughout the area. We are looking forward to having your artwork displayed and seeing your unique visual voice as the Southwestern Watercolor Society’s elite Signature Member.

Signature Members are Active Members whose work has been accepted in any five open SWS exhibitions, Western Federation of Watercolor Societies exhibitions (entered through SWS) or Membership Shows of this society.  SWS Signature Members are entitled to display the SWS signature on their work.  No other Members of the Society shall display the SWS signature on their work or are permitted to submit paintings for this exhibition. 

A membership show, in order to be a qualifying show to earn an SWS signature, must be open to all members of SWS.  No painting may be entered in more than one SWS sponsored show in order to gain more than one (1) point toward signature status.  Any painting may earn only one point toward signature status. 

We encourage all signature members to participate, but limited space will limit the number of members who can exhibit paintings. Please read the prospectus carefully for details.

Location: Frisco Discovery Center Gallery, 8004 N Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75034

 

Eligible Participants: SWS Signature Members in good standing Only

 

Dates:
          Register to Participate with painting images: Saturday, August 1 – Monday, October 5, 2026

          Email Notification of Acceptance: Wednesday, October 7, 2026

          Delivery of Accepted Paintings: Saturday, October 24, 11:00 – 1:00 om

          Exhibition Opens: Friday, October 30, 2026

          Reception: Friday, November 20, 2026,  6:00-9:00 pm

          Pick-Up Exhibited Paintings: Saturday, January 9, 2026, 11:00-1:00 pm

 

Painting Size: 42” outside framed in any direction

 

Fees: $40 per artist handling fee plus 30% commission on sales

 

Conditions: Only 22 artists can be accommodated. This show will not be juried or judged. All artworks must meet the stipulations established in the prospectus.

Enter the 63nd Annual SWS Membership Exhibition by June 30th!

 

SWS is one of the premier regional watercolor societies in the United States. Watercolor painters from all over the country enter the competition for the opportunity to share their work and be selected for one of the coveted monetary awards. The call for entries for the exhibition will run from May 1 to June 30 as it does every year. We are reminding artists to get those paintings ready. It is important that you consult the prospectus (available on May 1st)  to make sure your paintings conform to the guidelines that are provided.

 

This year’s exhibition is judged by acclaimed watercolor painter, Stephen Zhang, https://www.stephenzhangart.com/.  Mr. Zhang will choose around eighty paintings to exhibit.

     Prospectus Published:        Thursday, May 1, 2026

     Registration Closes:            Monday, June 30, 2026, 11:59 p.m. 

     Preview Party:                     Sunday, July 19, 2026, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

The high quality of the artwork that is shown in our exhibitions is the result of the caliber of artists we attract to enter. Artists can enter three works, but the juror will only select one piece by any submitting artist. That results in a highly diverse show that shows the range of painting styles and subject matter that is seen in contemporary watercolor.

The exhibition and Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, September 11 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the

Entry Fees and Registration:

The non-refundable entry fee is $50 for up to three entries.

 

The entry fee must be paid online through the call for entry (CaFÉ) website

Applying is a three-stage process:

 

● Upload your paintings at My Portfolio

● Apply to the SWS Annual Membership Exhibition at  Apply to Calls

● Complete and pay the entry fee at Checkout

 

Image Requirements:

 

● Digital image submission should show the painted image only, not the mat or the frame.

● Only a JPEG or JPG format is permitted, with an image size of under 5 MB, and a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side.
