Seeing the forest and the trees: Painting luminous aspens in snow

In this workshop Cecy will lead participants in exploring the luminous and reflective qualities of both aspen trees and snow. Her techniques translate beautifully to all kinds of subjects, and class will include demonstrations, painting time and constructive feedback.

“While enjoying the effects of letting the colors merge on the paper, we’ll  create luminous colors in on the aspen tree bark itself,” Cecy said.  "We will paint the big picture through simplifying the shapes, then adding realistic detail to describe the beautiful bark of the aspens.”

Participants must notify the one-day class chairs of a cancellation within a month of the class to receive a refund or credit unless their spot can be filled from a waitlist. (Exemptions for medical or emergency reasons only.) Close parking is available near the entrance on the northwest side of the church closest to the Marsh and Royal intersection.  Participants can bring a lunch (refrigerator and microwave available in adjacent kitchen).
